Project Overview

GATHER & CELEBRATE

Anchored by the recently renovated Susan T. Goldberg Courtyard, the completed park will offer a pergola with seating, a gorgeous new installation called Debbie's Garden, an additional patio with tables surrounded by Honey's Garden, an open lawn area, and a new garden with seating at the Slivka-Blechman Holocaust Memorial.

LEARN & PLAY

Rooted in nature and inclusively designed for children of all ages and abilities, the park will feature the Goldman Family Playground, with opportunities to climb, swing, slide, create, and let imaginations run wild!

SERVE OUR COMMUNITY

Designed for semi-public use (similar to a public school playground), this park will provide a fenced, well-lit place to play and gather for a neighborhood with no publicly accessible playground within a 20 minute walking radius.

THE DESIGN

With inspiration from Congress Square Park and Pond Cove Playground, the emphasis on community in this project has been present from the start. Dream sessions with TBE leaders, Friends of Woodfords Corner, and Levey students, faculty, and parents laid the foundation for a concept that truly embodies the needs and hopes of an entire community.

Sashie Misner, designer of the Jewish Community Alliance playground and the Fort Williams Children's Garden, has now taken those dreams and created a design that will elevate communal life for our neighborhood, the Jewish community, and beyond, enabling our children to take risks, have fun, and learn in a safe and stimulating environment.
